The South-Korean giant LG has introduced its brand-new TV range for India under the “OLED evo” and “QNED evo” banners, aiming to raise the bar in smart TV performance, display quality and user experience These models go beyond mere spec upgrades: LG emphasises intelligence, personalisation and future-proofing as much as picture and sound.
What’s new and why it matters
Smarter than before
At the heart of the 2025 lineup is LG’s upgraded Alpha AI Processor Gen2 which brings in smarter features such as:
- Voice-recognition via the AI-enabled remote: for example, the “AI Magic Remote” now has a dedicated AI button
- Personalized content: “AI Welcome” greets users, “AI Voice ID” recognises who’s using the TV and switches profile/recommendations accordingly
- Real-time tuning of picture & sound: Tools like AI Picture Wizard, AI Sound Wizard/Pro analyse the scene, ambient light or user habits and adjust accordingly. Display & gaming upgrades
- The OLED evo models ramp up peak brightness and refine contrast via gamers: some OLED models are certified for 4K at 165 Hz refresh rate, and support NVIDIA G-SYNC & AMD FreeSync
- The QNED evo range (LCD-based but premium) upgrades with Mini-LED backlighting, new “Dynamic QNED Colour” technology (replacing older quantum-dot methods) and zone-based light control for deeper blacks and richer colours.
